Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Conference and completed our post-event survey. One takeaway was that our members are eager for more networking opportunities and ways to give back to the community. This event is an opportunity to do both!
Join us at Hudson Grille for an evening of connection, conversation, and community impact. In addition to networking with HR professionals from across the region, we’ll also have an opportunity to participate in a hands-on activity benefiting non-profits — a meaningful way to connect while giving back.
Our event will feature two opportunities to give back to our local community. Ahead of the event, collect items to bring with you for our donation drive supporting The Sharing Shelf. During the event, we’ll work together to make holiday cards for patients at a local psychiatric hospital supporting the Psych Ward Greeting Cards program.
1) Diaper + Fall/Winter Clothing Donation Drive Supporting the Sharing Shelf
The Sharing Shelf was founded to address clothing insecurity and meet the basic material needs of low-income children and teens in Westchester County. Over 55% of residents are rent-burdened, spending more than one-third of their income on housing. Over 25% of Westchester children and young adults live in poor or low-income homes.
For many of these families, clothing for growing children, new school supplies, and other basic necessities like new socks, new underwear and basic hygiene become luxuries they struggle to afford.
We’ll be collecting the following items to donate to The Sharing Shelf – bring them with you to the event!
- Fall and winter clothing – from cozy sweaters and long-sleeve shirts to warm pants, jackets, and coats. Donations should be in clean, wearable condition ready for immediate distribution.
- Diapers – the most acutely needed sizes are 4 through 6 and pull-ups in all sizes.
2) Holiday Card Making for Patients at Local Psychiatric Hospital Supporting Psych Ward Greeting Cards
Psych Ward Greeting Cards is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is a leading psychiatric hospital outreach program based in New York created by Katherine Ponte. Katherine is an award-winning mental health advocate, best-selling author, nonprofit leader, and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine. The program distributes donated greeting cards with recovery messages to psychiatric unit patients at major hospitals to inspire hope for recovery.
During our event, we will spend time together making and designing holiday cards for patients. No need to bring anything – we’ll have all the supplies needed to make inspirational cards to bring light and hope to local patients during the holidays.
Register today and be part of this impactful evening!
